{"id":9,"date":"2012-10-09T06:21:45","date_gmt":"2012-10-09T06:21:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/prelingerlibrary.org\/home\/?page_id=9"},"modified":"2016-09-30T22:32:42","modified_gmt":"2016-09-30T22:32:42","slug":"press","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/prelingerlibrary.org\/home\/about\/press\/","title":{"rendered":"Press"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>2016<\/h2>\n<p>The SFMOMA Open Space blog visited in August and posted this <a href=\"http:\/\/openspace.sfmoma.org\/2016\/09\/liminal-space\/thoughtful<\/a> report in September. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/abc7news.com\/society\/san-francisco-couple-opens-free-public-library\/1495747\/\">ABC 7 News<\/a> briefly covered the library in September.<\/p>\n<p>The Library was awarded a &#8220;Best of SF&#8221; certificate by San Francisco Magazine.<\/p>\n<p>The library was cited in a <a href=\"http:\/\/phenomena.nationalgeographic.com\/2016\/05\/20\/this-1916-guide-shows-what-the-first-road-trips-were-like\/\">National Geographic<\/a> article on road trips.<\/p>\n<h2>2015<\/h2>\n<p>In October <a href=\"https:\/\/ww2.kqed.org\/arts\/2015\/10\/21\/uncommon-library-opens-its-doors-for-artist-led-talks\/\">KQED<\/a> reported on the first of the library&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/prelingerlibrary.org\/home\/artists\/place-talks\/\">Place Talks<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hoodline.com\/2015\/09\/inside-the-prelinger-library\">Hoodline<\/a> covered the library in September.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfchronicle.com\/art\/article\/In-SOMA-a-hidden-research-library-reflects-its-6458999.php\">San Francisco Chronicle<\/a> gave the library a lovely feature in the Datebook section on August 24.<\/p>\n<h2>2013<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150507081143\/http:\/\/www.wired.com\/wiredscience\/2013\/08\/prelinger-library-rare-maps\/\" title=\"Wired Science\" target=\"_blank\">Wired<\/a> Science gave thoughtful coverage to our map collection, with article by Greg Miller and photos by Ariel Zembalich. <\/p>\n<p>Over at ModCloth.com the library was warmly profiled by <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150507081143\/http:\/\/blog.modcloth.com\/2013\/08\/14\/best-job-ever-renegade-librarian-megan-prelinger\/\" title=\"Cindy Yogmas (&quot;Best Job Ever&quot;)\" target=\"_blank\">Cindy Yogmas (\u201cBest Job Ever\u201d)<\/a>, with photos by Molly DeCaudreaux. <\/p>\n<p>Article and interview by Erin Kissane in Contents magazine, February issue.<\/p>\n<h2>2011<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150507081143\/http:\/\/www.reed.edu\/reed_magazine\/december2011\/articles\/features\/prelinger\/prelinger.html\" title=\"Article about library\" target=\"_blank\">Article about the library<\/a> in the Reed College alumni magazine. <\/p>\n<p>Wired magazine co-founder <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150507081143\/http:\/\/kk.org\/thetechnium\/archives\/2011\/04\/the_gravity_of.php\" target=\"_blank\">Kevin Kelly blogged about the library<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150507081143\/http:\/\/www.sfweekly.com\/2011-09-28\/news\/prelinger-archive-san-francisco-history-matt-smith\/\" target=\"_blank\">SF Weekly wrote an online column<\/a> about the library.<\/p>\n<h2>2010<\/h2>\n<p>The library won a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150507081143\/http:\/\/www.sfbg.com\/2010\/11\/02\/goldies-2010-lifetime-achievement-rick-and-megan-prelinger\">lifetime achievement award from the San Francisco Bay Guardian!<\/a>. <\/p>\n<h2>2009<\/h2>\n<p>Feature in <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150507081143\/http:\/\/ambidextrousmag.org\/\">Ambidextrous Magazine<\/a>\u2018s Spring 2009 issue.<\/p>\n<p>Interview on <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150507081143\/http:\/\/www.kqed.org\/epArchive\/R905141000\" target=\"_blank\">KQED\u2019s Forum<\/a> program.
