The Stacks Explorer is an experimental browsing interface for the Prelinger Library.
This project arose from a series of questions posed by Megan & Rick about how a library website might function if it prioritized looking rather than searching, and how a library without a formal catalog might surface its holdings to offsite patrons.
The first version was finished in 2018, the second in 2024; The later is more accurate to the library's current layout, and includes the Ephemera and Therkleson collection. Due to my expanded technical pallette in the intervening years, the second verison features a smoother, google-maps-like user interface and higher-quality photos. See the about page for more information.
