In April we added a small gray box to the Ephemera collection, titled Computing & Ecology. The publications placed there in hard copy are also accessible online. They are two publications by Anne Pasek: “Getting Into Fights with Data Centres” and “Solar-Powered Media” (coauthored with Benedetta Penitella). Both publications investigate philosophical and practical approaches to uncoupling data storage from the energy footprint that characterizes Big Data.
